Catching up, accelerating, and thriving takes a new approach. Most students don’t struggle because they have trouble learning, they struggle because traditional school doesn't engage them. We’ve designed something different.

We don't believe in averages.

We believe the GPA system is unfair. Due to the equally unfair college admissions tournament, many capable, exceptional, and hard working students don’t get the chance they deserve when applying to college. At Colearn Academy, we believe in sums. Students can do more at any point to earn the grade they are aiming for.

Improve your transcript. Whatever needs improvement.

Up to 40% of high school freshmen fail a course. Unfortunately, the way most schools do it – course semester and yearly grades stick and weigh down potential. At some point, the GPA can feel like an uphill battle or even a lost cause. This might become all too clear when it might feel too late: applying to college. At Colearn Academy, we can wipe the slate clean and you can likely still graduate on time. Or if you just want to improve for a few credits here and there, you can do it as fast as your learning will let you.

Get credit for your own interests, projects, and work.

The same learners who might struggle to make the grade in a typical school might actually create cool projects, gain work experience, or geek out topics relevant to them. They become skilled at something that requires a lot of practice, or learn a lot about something that interests them. Why can’t that count for academic credit? It could! We have a way to appreciate and assess independent learning and work that is unique to us.

A first term wrinkling your GPA? Finish the year at Colearn Academy and iron out the whole credit.

If you finish out the year using our interactive curriculum, and/or building out our (research-backed) independent study portfolio, you can demonstrate what you’ve learned and we’ll give you credit for the whole year with the grade you deserve.

Everyone wishes there was a redo button in life. There should definitely be more of them. At Colearn Academy, we're doing our part to allow students to redo courses, terms, or even years – all without unnecessary extra work or the typical red tape. What we care about is learning, character, focus, hard work, skill development and continual improvement.
